I just think it will highlight you to the person, they may see a side of you they haven't before and feel really attracted to you. I was never so scared in all my life. We were also told that it would be a long drawn out process in the courts and the outcome would not be decided for months. Four days into the wish cycle my son called me and told me that the prosecuting attorney had already come up with a plea bargain and that at the WORST he would only have to sit in county jail for 6 months with Huber work privileges and that three of the four felony counts were being dropped immediately. The attorney said that he plans to get them to drop ALL the felony charges and reduce it to one misdemeanor and ask for NO jail time what-so-ever! It turns out the arresting officers were intoxicated themselves, had broken the law earlier in the day, had been previously thrown out of the establishment where the arrrest took place and witnesses had seen them approaching my son and being turned away several times so the arrest amounted to entrapment and the witnesses were not credible and their behavior opened up a can of worms that the county would not want to have to explain in court. My son has entered a treatment program and is obligated to be on probation where he will be monitored to keep him off drugs and he is going back into the chef business which he has enjoyed all his life. Instead of ruining his life, this terrible event has turned his life around. When I made my wish I could not see a way that it could come true. The lawyer painted a very grim picture of the possibilities. It happened in a very conservative county and the judge was known for sending people away to prison for any sort of drug related charge. A long drawn out court battle would almost certainly have cost more money than we would be able to raise and I would be burdened for years with long distance visiting and caring for my son's needs in prison when I am already impoverished and on disability.
